Lipitor (Atorvastatin): Support and Discuss

Hey, all. My husband had been taking Lipitor for 5 years and was exhibiting serious symptoms of depression & anxiety while also having severe anger/irritability issues. He would blow up and completely overreact over every little thing. In addition to the severe mood issues, he had chronic back pain and muscle aches that prohibited him from very much physical activity. It got so bad that we were about to file for divorce when my osteopath suggested that he go off the Lipitor. Within days all of his symptoms were gone. No pain, no mood issues. He was back to his normal self. He has extremely high FH levels (genetic) and has tried every statin to control it but he has the same symptoms with every one. Has anyone else exhibited these symptoms (particularly the mood issues) while on statins? And if so, what have you done to control this?
