The latest VW Golf R 333 was completely sold out in eight minutes. The model went on sale in Europe on June 2, and all 333 hot hatches were snapped up almost immediately.
Volkswagen markets the Golf R 333 as a collector's item, so the price is high: the five-door starts at 76,410 euros ($81K).
There are only minor improvements over the standard Golf R, so the nearly 20,000 euro overpayment is due to the limited availability and status of the factory special version.
