This is a friendly reminder to all the parents out there to invest for your children's education.

I passed my entrance exam in UST & La Salle (Univs that belong to big 4). I also passed my exams to other prestig universities including FEU. Basta I applied to many universities just to make sure I have a lot of options to choose to. After passing USTET, I thought my college is secured. Paid 10k reservation fee. But now that uste enrollment is approaching, mom asked me for other schools that I have passed that offer cheaper tuition fee. I was so down after reading that message. The reason why I opted to pay reservation fee in uste was that mom told me to, and uste is way more affordable than DLSU. I was really disappointed last last night.

Since I was in elementary, I've been studying in a public school. The only expenses my mom have paid for are my miscellaneous, allowances, and projects. Uniforms were provided by the city government too. I've been a consistent honor student since junior high school. Now, I'm about to graduate with honors too, from a science high school. I'm now struggling which university should I choose now that I only have PUP as my last choice. I feel like my efforts weren't enough and worth it. I thought they were able to prepare for my college.

Applying for scholarships wasn't easy at all. Knowing that there are A LOT of applicants too. This post does not aim to invalidate the parent's financial struggles, but this is a message to all that as parents, it is your responsibility to pay for your children's education especially when you know that they are really performing well and they deserve a better school.

I feel so discouraged to enroll to PUP after reading a lot of rants and sucie notes from pupians. I am more than half aware how messed up their system is. Especially in College of Accountancy and Finance (my first choice is BSA btw). But I think, I got no choice but to go to PUP. If only I know that my parent's promise (about my college) isn't true, I should have not taken entrance exams from these universities. See you next life, my uste.
