Hi Science friends! I hope this is the right place to post this. I am planning on going back to school this fall and have been debating on majoring in Medical Technology or Biology (with Microbiology concentration). I originally planned on going into the MLS field but upon further research I realize there’s not a lot if career growth or work-life balance, both of which are very important to me. I now plan on going into Biotech after I graduate with a BS (I also plan on getting my Masters). Working in Biotech sounds more meaningful and has better growth, opportunities and is overall and a better field for me. However, my school doesn’t have a Biotech major, Only a certification. Which honestly I might look into during my college journey.

I guess my question is — Which major is more favorable for a career in Biotechnology? Is getting the certification on top of it helpful or even worth it?
