Bitcoin is the currency of the Internet: a distributed, worldwide, decentralized digital money. Unlike traditional currencies such as dollars, bitcoins are issued and managed without any central authority whatsoever: there is no government, company, or bank in charge of Bitcoin. As such, it is more resistant to wild inflation and corrupt banks. With Bitcoin, you can be your own bank.

What's up r/cc! Hope everyone is doing well at this crazy time for meme projects and wallet hacks. I saw something on my timeline that I figured some folks here might find interesting:

Mark Cuban, well-known entrepenur and host of Shark tank, is going to publish a book this week using the Polygon network. The book is titled "How to Win at the Sport of Business: If I Can Do It, You Can Do It."

I am not necessarily head-over-heels for the specific content of this book, but I think the approach to using blockchain for the purposes of eBook publications is interesting.

He is using a company called Book.io, who publishes all different kinds of things on different chains (Ethereum, Polygon, Cardano, and Algorand). Each book is an NFT that you hold inside your wallet. But this is not like a normal NFT where anyone can view the contents by looking up your wallet on opensea or a blockchain scanner. Book-io calls them DEAs (Decentralized Encrypted Assets), which has the content of the book in an encrypted form, and which can only be viewed and read once you log in to their platform with your wallet. There's a mobile app for Book, or can be viewed on desktop.

Use-cases like these are, I think, some of the things that help our space trend towards the idealized 'mass-adoption,' because they offer real-world utility. Alternatives to amazon's eBook system are great, which is something that lets you purchase digital content, but it is ultimately owned by them with no self-custody or resale possibilities. In using blockchain, it is an attempt to transform the eBook industry, which is pretty neat. And ultimately refreshing to see NFT technology used for something other than a primate-themed profile picture.

Thought this was cool, and was interested to hear people's perspectives here. To note: i do not work for book, and am not even going to provide a link for purchasing this thing. Just genuinely interested in the conversation and to hear people's points of view. (and labeled 'No Moons' for the same reasons.)

Hope everyone has a good Sunday!
