I think r/MagicTCG might find this interesting. Mark Rosewater talks about why they don't make an in Magic Universe version of every Universes Beyond Magic card.

Here's the full exchange for context:

greg502 asked:

If Wizards really wanted to, and could convince the necessary people, then could a Universes Within version of every Universes Beyond card be made? It could be made as Universes Within versions of the (non-Secret Lair) U.B. products or as compilation sets like the Masters sets or even Mystery Booster.

Mark Rosewater answered:

The biggest problem, from a business standpoint, with making a Universes Within card for every Universes Beyond card is there isn’t a large enough audience to offset the huge cost of such an undertaking.

As I’ve said in other answers, the number of players that will only play a Universes Within card and never a Universes Beyond version is just not that big. And we believe as Universes Beyond gets more normalized as a product line, the small number will continue to shrink.
