I am doing a three month trip around SE Asia and I chose Malaysia as my starting point because I love laksa. Well, to be fair, I love curry laksa. I can't get any other kind in my country. Hopefully I find more new favorites here.

Would any locals in Kuala Lumpur or Penang be able to advise me on the best places to get laksa? I'd love to try eating the best made curry laksa, sarawak laksa, ipoh laksa, and nyonya laksa.

I don't like seafood so I'd prefer to avoid any laksa that has a strong fish taste (tried assam laksa and didn't enjoy it). Are there other laksa I didn't mention that I should try that doesn't have a strong seafood taste to it that I should try?

I tried some laksa from Ah Cheng. On a scale of 1 - 10, how good is the laksa there considered?

I am deaf and I have cochlear implant (its like hearing aids for people with zero hearing). I can hear but it is tough with accents. I would like to take a laksa cooking class. Would there be any suggestions on cooking classes in KL or Penang with someone who has good clear English or a lot of patience and ability to communicate without needing to speak much? I'm worried about being left behind or having people be impatient with me.

If anyone here likes to play chess and might want to grab a coffee and have a game, please let me know. I have a travel chess set. Is there a street or a place where people go for some casual chess?

I like to explore abandoned places and take photograph of interesting abandoned buildings. Would there be any in KL or Penang that could be explored?
