This is a community for the sharing of artwork depicting pre-modern era (not just ancient) warriors armed and armored as though they had access to more modern or future technology. The important part is that the aesthetics stay similar and they depicted warrior is recognizable as the historical warrior without the observer having to be told so.

This subreddit is for modernist art, roughly 1860-1980. Visual, written, audio, architecture, all of it is valid. It is not for contemporary art made after the modernist period.
