Is it normal sometimes for long distance couples to not talk for a whole day?

My bf got a full time job and it looks like he’ll be doing both 2nd and 3rd shift jobs… his 2nd shift hours are 2-10 PM and I assume since it’s 7 hour shifts, his 3rd shift would be roughly 11PM to 7Am or something… and I fear we would have days of no communication from it… is this okay and normal? He says it could like not make things go stale by not talking for a day on occasion but I dont like the sound of that…

Family not taking LDR seriously

It's been nearly a year since my boyfriend and I became official and my family still asks how "serious" we are. I have explained to them that distance doesn't matter to us and that we are just as serious as any other couple, but they don't seem to...accept it?

Of course we get questions about future plans and closing the gap – this is normal. We can handle this. But not taking us as a couple seriously? I'm hoping this gets better once they get to meet him in August.

The most interesting part to me is that my own parents met online in the early Internet days and began dating immediately, as well as another family member of mine, so it's not unheard of.

cute date idea!

my boyfriend and i tried this last night and it was SO much fun. if you are able to get a Geoguessr membership (which is less than $5/mo) you should be able to do this. Geoguessr is a game where you are dropped at some pinpoint in google earth and you have to guess the location having the ability to move around like street view. we made a custom map of the area where i live and also the area where he lives, then i shared my screen to our skype call and we played for .. i dont even know how long LOL. it felt like we were exploring each other’s cities, we even got dropped right near my childhood home! we had a lot of fun and will definitely be doing it again, but thought i’d throw out the idea to anyone else who might think this sounds fun :) (not a sponsorship for geoguessr i just happen to play it and have a membership already)
