Went for a insurance quote broker pulls up my brother claims. Seeking advice.

Just recently financed a new car and wanted to see if we can get a lower quote then our progressive insurance. Had the progressive insurance for the past 3 years now which I did not claim any accidents. My brother and I have the exact same name basically. Our first name is only 1 letter difference with same last name as well. The broker pulled up 10 claims under my name but all the claims were under GEICO which what my mom and brother had. I was not on their insurance for the past 3 years. I just got a copy of my MVR and I have Point Level of 0. There is no claims in the report as well. How should I proceed with this issue?

Umbrella insurance in jeopardy due to marriage

In June of 2021 I hit a concrete pillar while parking and submitted a claim to GEICO.

In May of 2022 I hit a large rock coming out of my garage and (stupidly) submitted a second claim to GEICO.

I recently got married, and now my spouse’s insurer (USAA) says she will not be able to keep her umbrella policy due to my record of auto insurance claims.

I called GEICO to see if there is any way I can retroactively withdraw my claims, but they will not allow it.

My wife has several rental properties insured through USAA so she does not want to switch to another company.

Do we have any options for her maintaining her current umbrella insurance?

Hey,

I was involved in a minor incident in which another person road raged and brake checked me as I was merging lanes. He then attempted to flee but was caught due to me having dash cam video of the entire event and his license plate.

I’m currently waiting on State Farm to respond to my claim and dash cam submission but wanted to know if it would be wise to find a body shop to get an estimate while I wait? And if so do I wait to submit it to State Farm?

Can someone explain this to me in plain English? 😅

I finally got a claim resolved from last May and things appear to have gone my way. This is my first time dealing with an insurance claim so I was wondering if someone could explain this lingo to me. TIA

Sign Title Over Before Total Loss Car Valuation?

I was in the middle of a 3 car accident recently. My insurance adjuster called and said my car is a total loss and they need to get it out of the tow lot and moved to one of their holding facilities. They went on to explain the process, and part of it was handing over the title before they assess the value of my vehicle. Is that standard practice? Should I push for them to assess my vehicle’s value before handing over the title? I have no idea how this works, any input is appreciated!

Looking for some advice, blasting company caused damage to 5 cars and a panera bread

Last Monday, myself and 5 cars were in line at a Panera Bread getting breakfast or coffee. There was a blasting company operating about 200' away at an elevated location. Looks like they did properly cover the boulders with the blast absorption material because as soon as they blasted there was a massive shower of rock and debris. For some odd reason i had this impulse to record once i heard the train horn go off and luckily i captured it on my phone.

The police were called and everyone make a statement and there is a police file. The owner of the blasting company has said they iwll contact their insurance and the insurance company will send an adjuster to each person house to look over vehicle.

Since Last monday no one has contacted us, one of the folks in our group who is a lawyer has bee on them and this is the latest from her:

I kept calling the Blasting company and no one would reached out to me. Finally he gave me a number of a girl at his agency. she was on vacation so i left voicemails on everyones box that i could find. finally said person emailed me. she sent me the number of an adjuster. THe adjuster set us up with a rental car which we have bene arguing over. i can't drive my car with the back windshield smashed. they have the police report. i went and got it and sent to them. person said that they were going to have another adjuster come and look at the car, but they havent. i email thi sperson 2-4 times a day. they are very proactive and even suggested i get my own insurance involved which i am trying to avoid.

i believe we are all going to now start calling and emailing to show them we won't just let it pass. From an official recourse, who could we file complaints with to get the ball rolling? is there a blasting company certification board or an insurance board that overviews this?

Location - Connecticut. THe specific town is Shelton.

PLEASE read - need advice (insurance)

I am still new to Reddit and don’t know where I should post this I am looking for advice. My husband drives a pick up truck with commercial insurance (he runs a small renovations company).

This past September 2022 we were in a write off accident (sadly caused by myself it only involved our vehicle). My husband had one other accident from July 2018 which was a rear end (it was a very minor accident pretty much a paint job in hindsight he should of probably paid cash to the guy).

His insurance is set to renew and they are saying they are dropping him because there are 2 accidents on file. Is this normal? Is it because the type of claims? Is there any way to try and argue back? Again one claim was very small another claim was at fault caused by another driver.

I just feel bad because I feel like this is my fault and here in Ontario, Canada there are limited options for commercial insurance.
