I’m at an ecology conference this week there are very few vegan options—I understand this is always the case, but it just hits different at an event filled with environmental scientists, especially when they are leaders in their field. I’m surrounded by people giving presentations on climate change and land misuse and then I see them eating meat/dairy/eggs. It’s baffling, and it’s so discouraging. any other environmental professionals out there with the same frustrations?

My girlfriend just became vegan.

We’ve been together for 8 months now and yesterday she told me I inspired her to live a vegan lifestyle together with me - this made me very proud and happy. (She was a vegetarian for the last 10 years) I wanted to share this to maybe motivate others out here to be patient with their non-vegan partners. Many of us didn’t become vegan overnight and I sometimes read here that a vegan shouldn’t date a non-vegan… and I don’t believe that - and luckily didn’t 8 months ago :)
