I am guessing it is just nothing, but I saw this article about it, but no reputable sources talking about it.

It sure seems like I neither understand what I’m about to be missing out on, and additionally the size of the community affected as referenced in this article: https://kotaku.com/reddit-third-party-3rd-apps-pricing-crush-ios-android-1850493992

First, what are the QOL features I’m missing out on? I’ve used the app on an iPhone for several years, and yes clicking to close comments is a bit annoying but I’m guessing there’s major features I’ve just never encountered, like mod tools I guess? Someone help me out here if you know better. Bots? Data analytics? Adblockers? Ads presently just say “promoted,” and are generally insanely weird real-estate deals, dudes with mixtapes, or casual games.

Second, who are the people affected? For context, I’ve mostly grown up in Japan, where Reddit is available, but I haven’t naturally come across alternatives to the app nor I have I heard someone talk about them. There’s Reddit official with a 4.7 avg and 11k reviews , Apollo with a 4.6 rating and 728 review, Narwhal with 4.4 and 36, and then a few other options. I’m not aware of Reddit being available under the Discord app (4.7 stars, 368k reviews), but I am truly not even seeing the affected community. Is this astroturfing by Big Narwhal? I doubt it, but from my immediate surroundings, I’m definitely feeling out of the loop.

I’ve tried posting this before, and ironically I was asked to provide images or a URL link and was recommended to include pictures via ImgURL, which I understand to be itself a third party group, whereas native hosting is not allowed. Then, as I reposted this again with a link, it says that this group does not allow links. Why is automod demanding links and images, neither of which are allowed in submissions? Clearly, I’m missing something here.

I keep seeing headlines link about this being either one of the largest or the largest day of protest in Polish history. I am not sure what the inciting incident was even after reading a couple of articles. It seems like there are a variety of factors leading to people coming out for mass anti-government demonstrations? And how is the ruling party reacting? Are they actually still popular with the people?

I keep seeing this talked about but I don't understand the context. A new film in the Fast & Furious franchise has just come out but there's articles saying that Vin Diesel won't be in the next one due to some fallout with other actors.

What happend?

Edit: possibly important info I forgot to mention - I have not seen any of the films.

Example 4

r/AnarchyChess users seems to be brigading r/JustUnsubbed, by spamming posts fake unsubbing and talking about something called “en passant”.

I’d expect this sort of behavior from subs that have had friction in the past with r/JustUnsubbed, such as r/196, but I have no idea why r/AnarchyChess is doing this.

Rules

1. Post title must be a current, unbiased, and coherent question

  • The title is the most important aspect to creating a post. If it's hard for other users to understand what you are asking then it will be hard to get an answer.
    • Current - The topic of the post you are creating must be a trending event that has happened recently.
    • Unbiased - Don't put your own twist on it to make it come off negative or positive. Try to be as neutral as possible.
    • Coherent - Write a complete question that is clear about what you are trying to ask. Don't simply put one word and a question mark.
    • Format - Include the format listed here

2. Post must include context and resources in the body of the text

  • Context is key when trying to find a proper answer. The more we know about what you are asking, the better we can answer with more information.
    • Context - Add some words to your post so there is more to work with than a title. Words such as; what you saw, where you saw it, how often you saw it.
    • Resources - You obviously saw it somewhere; link to the thing that made you ask. Or include a screenshot.

3. No ad nauseum, recently reposted, or retired questions

  • Often times what you are asking has already been answered. Be sure to search the subreddit, Google, and KnowYourMeme before creating a new post.
    • Ad nauseum - The topic in question has been discussed extensively, and that those involved in the discussion have grown tired of it.
    • Recently reposted - A topic is popular and is posted multiple times within a short period of time.
    • Retired - The 'Big List of Retired Questions' is a wiki page created by the mods that lists overly asked questions that have been thoroughly answered. Duplicates of retired questions may be removed.

4. Top-level comments must be a genuine, unbiased, and coherent answer

  • People are here to find answers for their questions. If top-level comments are riddled with memes or non-answers then no one wins.
    • Genuine - Attempt to answer with words; don't pop in to tell users to search or drop a link without explanation.
    • Unbiased - Answer without putting your own twist of bias towards the answer. However, after you leave an unbiased response, you can add your own opinion as long as it's clearly marked, starting with "Biased:".
    • Coherent - Write in complete sentences that are clear about what you are trying to say.

5. Be nice, follow etiquette

  • This subreddit is supposed to be a helpful place for confused redditors.
    • Be nice - Be polite in your exchanges, vote based on whether a comment contributes to the discussion and not on whether you agree with the opinion, etc.
    • Follow etiquette - When in doubt, refer to reddiquette.
