[Gear] Got some new gear.

https://imgur.com/a/VEjp9aI

Got my first electric guitar! Yamaha PAC612VIIFM TBL. Got it hung next to my FG700s.

The Amp is a Yamaha THR10II.

I absolutely love it! Very much still a newb, but am enjoying it a lot. I'm blown away at how great quality of a guitar you get for the price.

.. p.s. please excuse my office. Haven't touched it since moving in, I need to paint and do some updates. Gotta love the school house green 😅

Can anyone help me work out one thing Gillian Welch is playing in this sublime song?

For the most part, her part in Ruby is fairly straightforward. Standard tuning with capo on first fret, it's pretty standard G, Bm, C fingerings.... BUT - just after the first C she slides that C shape up 3 frets. It appears she keeps the second and third finger in the standard C chape but moves her little finger up to the second string 7th fret.

I've tried that shape and although the bass notes are fine, I'm not hearing that high F# that the apparent fingering suggests. I think she may be damping the first string with her little finger and letting the second string ring open, but would love to hear a better suggestion.

Anyone know what's really going on here?
