Hey there, fellow Web Developers!

I'm working on my first real web development project and feeling pretty confident overall. However, I'm also aware that I still have a lot to learn.

The client had already chosen a hosting provider before I joined the project. It's a smaller local company that I hadn't heard of before. My client doesn't have much technical knowledge, so they went with this host again since they had a previous project there.

The hosting company has been helpful and responsive so far, but some of their responses have left me a bit puzzled. That's why I've come here, to get a second opinion from you guys.

It seems they had some issues with DNS registration, as one of the name servers took a long time to update due to being registered with the client's other site initially - Or something like that. (Since we're in Europe and from different countries, there are times when I find it a bit challenging to fully understand what they mean, due to their English not being the strongest.)

Now, as I was reading about setting up Cloudflare, I noticed that to benefit from the CDN cache, bot mitigation, and their DDoS protection, they recommend changing to their nameservers for a (Full setup). I wanted to know if switching to Cloudflare's name servers for a split setup (Full DNS at Cloudflare, and then web server/DB server hosted by the local host company) would cause major problems. So, I asked the host about it.

Their response was quite surprising. They basically said, "We have excellent DDoS protection, so never use Cloudflare. It will only bring problems and harm your SEO!"
