just spent 6 hours of my life shredding a bunch of cardboard to use as filler for store orders. filled 2 40 gallon bags and a medium sized box
we get so many deliveries and get so many cardboard boxes, it's something i've been wanting to do for AGES, and we finally bit the bullet and bought an industrial shredder to get it done. it was a lot of work but it feels good!!
I'm allergic to polyester (every day is a maze of horror) but would you ever put your skirt-prints on something like an actual print? I'm in love with the sheep design and want to support you but can't buy the skirts;;
the lambs are by @riibrego so you'll have to ask them! as for me, i have almost entirely stopped making new prints of my art bc they don't sell all that well for me so it's not really worth the hassle

Every skirt I’ve gotten from Maya Kern has been my most favorite (including the desert sunset one - just as gorgeous irl I PROMISE) get one!!! They are worth every single penny and so size inclusive!

Do you plan for any of your soon ish releases to include maxi (full length I believe is what that means) skirts? Or if you know a good place to get them? I recently wore the only skirt I own and decided I would like more. Swooshy swooshy, and also cooler in the summer heat. But of course I am incredibly picky so it's always difficult to find both patterns I like and things that fit well. I think I might like some of your patterns (there's so many I am not sure)
i do maxi skirt collabs with @freshhotflavors a few times a year, which are hosted on their store. i think there may be some leftovers from the last preorder in their store now but otherwise you’ll need to ask them about scheduling!
our latest skirt shipment should be here in a few weeks! once we ship out everyone's preorders we'll have more maxi leftovers then usual because our new manu has higher minimums. here’s what we’ll have from maya (stock drop will be about 25 of each design):
also we do have 1 A and 1 C size Hands Maxi left from our previous maya collab atm!
and several of our own designs in stock, altho quantities are running out - we'll only be restocking lavender midnight and fairy ring maxis for fhf design maxis this drop
What’s the difference between the new style and old style skirts? Just manu or something else?
new manu (with actual certifications for quality/consistency of material + ethical labor), new fabric (poly/elastic blend instead of poly/spandex), with better/more consistent sewing and a new size range (goes both smaller and larger than our old one)

if you were to do a ye olde cats sweater what would be on the collar?
so apart from the embroidered collars, our manu can also do printed ones, and i’ve been thinking about maybe just printing the ye olde cats pattern on the collar….
idk if people would like that tho so other ideas involve idk some sort of cursed cat embroidery or paw prints or yarn balls or something

all the sold out skirt designs have been hidden to remove visual clutter, but there are still quite a few skirt designs available!
You mentioned that the June/July restock was going to be mostly new skirts. What are some of these new designs going to be? And do you have one that you’re most excited for? :)
yes!! i think we're finally close enough that i can talk about our next big midi skirt restock/launch!!
there are a TON of new designs as well as a couple returning ones.
first up, @sergle's sunflower skirt is finally returning!
next up, we've got four new designs from @riibrego!! they are all gorgeous and i love them all however i am particularly partial to the fancy rats, as i have been obsessed with rii's rat drawings for literally forever
(other designs are luna moths, morning glories, and ginkgos)
for my designs, my two new ones are the thistles and the clouds! i'm very excited about both of these for different reasons
and returning we've got ye olde cats and dm (tpk), along with a new pink variant of my hiss from a rose design!
I was out grabbing my lunch and an elderly woman stopped me to tell me I looked like a ballerina in your skirt ❤️ (it was Rii Abrego strawberries with a red petticoat)
