When I was little my mom’s meatloaf was my favorite food. But ONLY her meatloaf. I didn’t like anyone else’s, and she told me that she would teach me how to make it when I was older. And when I was like 19? She finally taught me, but she told me never to tell anyone else and I was like weird but okay
Anyway, she was super fucking homophobic and abusive to me when I told her I was gay, so here’s the recipe
4-6 lbs of Hamburger/turkey burger
1 pk onion soup mix OR ranch mix
1 TBs ketchup
1 Tbs spicy brown mustard,
1 Tbs bbq sauce
1 Tbs steak sauce
1 egg
mix, shape into a loaf in a big pan, and bake at 350 for 2 hrs (maybe 2 and a half if you’re feeling dangerous)
You can get almost all of these ingredients at the dollar store, and have leftovers if it’s just you. The leftovers make great tacos if (taco seasoning is also like a dollar). Enjoy your revenge loaf
here’s a mashed potato recipe from my homophobic mother that i swore to never share that would pair perfectly!
(6 servings)
-2lbs red potatoes
-1 cup butter (2 sticks)
-1 cup cream cheese (1 pack)
-Chives (optional)
-Salt & Pepper to taste
1. drop those bad boys (potatoes) in a big ol pot. U don’t even have to chop them just wash them
2. boil til soft!
3. Drain
4. Mash (usually they’re small enough you can use a fork if u don’t have one of those squashers) until its a pretty chunky mix
5. add the other stuff. Keep mashing
I like my mashed potato consistancy more lumpy but its all up to you!! Peel the potatoes or keep them on, it literally makes the creamiest fluffiest mashed potatoes which she always served with the nastiest fuckin meatloaf

Discord is pretty dumbed down, though. That’s just sad. The smartphone generation is just as doomed as the boomers.
maybe I’m just biased because I’ve been using computers since the early 2000s, when file system management was a necessary skill for just about anything online, but back then plenty of people were equally tech-illiterate.
The only difference between then and now is that people need to use tech in their day to day lives, all the time, and that tech has only become more and more patronizing to end users. I have experience with software companies - non developers in the industry, who can make decisions about how users interface with the product, are often also pretty tech illiterate.
anyway, I don’t think zoomers are the problem. I think consumer tech has grown too rapidly in day-to-day importance, and technological education is viewed as an “enemy” that “innovation” must cure by executives at tech companies who can barely set up their e-mail accounts on their phones.
Avatar AU where Aang stays in the iceberg and Katara is mistakenly believed to be the Avatar after she “earthbends” a rock by moving the ice inside it.
Instead of telling the truth and letting everyone down, she and Sokka pull on an elaborate charade and go on a journey to convince the world that the Avatar is back.
Sokka was initially against the idea, thinking it’s crazy, but he got onboard anyway because it’s his little sister and he can’t let her go out into the world alone and put a target on herself.
After they started, he got super into the idea and started crafting an elaborate backstory for her Airbending predecessor, and devising ways for her to fake-bend the other elements.

Bumi agrees to teach her because he is pretty sure she’s a reincarnation of him
Sokka: But… you’re still alive.
Bumi: So is the real Avatar. I think we can bend the rules of reincarnation a bit.
Zuko still gets a redemption arc and switches sides. Only after he joins Team Avatar does he learn that Katara is not, in fact, the avatar. By this point he’s already committed so screw it he’s teaching a waterbender how to fake-firebend now.
That’s very in-character because Aang never wanted to be the Avatar anyway.
God I miss the days when you could show up to a stranger’s farm and he’d say “What’s your name, boy?” and you’d take off your hat and hold it to your chest to better let him see your face and reply “Why I ain’t got none, sir, on account of my mammy passed on before she could give me one” and he’d tell you he’s real damn sorry to hear that and ask what he can do you for and you’d tell him that you can’t read nor even write neither but you’re mighty good with horses and can mend them fallen fence posts what you saw on your way in and won’t ask for nothing much more than a hot meal and a warm barn to sleep in and he’d keep his wife and daughters inside but send his boy who ain’t got married yet even though his mama tells him he needs a woman out with a lantern and some stew at night and the two of you’d get to talkin and he’d throw you his flask to take a swig from and watch you drinkin from it while he leant against the door frame and when he finally got called back on up to the house again he’d take a sip from it too real slow-like like it weren’t the whiskey what he were tryna savour
