I have been looking at positions for being a Rota Nanny in France, which, if you don't know, is when a nanny has their own bedroom and lives within the home for a specific period of time, typically one or two entire weeks, and then they get that same amount of time off just after. From what I understand, they are on call 24/7 during this time, at night for any night emergencies, anytime during the day, etc. for a week or two straight.

I am curious to know if this kind of set up is legal or not. I know that it is common in some countries, but from everything I have read, it doesn't actually seem to be legal here. I have noticed many job postings for this type of position from (seemingly) reputable nanny agencies.

In theory, I am interested in this type of work but I am not willing to take a position that is illegal, because who knows what other illegal things they will try to do. I also think it is well known that (especially) women who work in the home are often taken advantage of and not given their full rights.

I have tried to read through the convention collective that I believe applies "Particuliers employeurs et emploi à domicile". The only things I've read is that every 7 days, there must be 24 hours off. But perhaps there is some loophole that makes it legal that I haven't found yet?
