I called the police, they came and tried to get ahold of the cars owner many times by calling them and knocking on their door. No answer.

Then the police officer gets it towed himself (calls which tow company they have a contract with)

So technically I guess I didn’t get it towed, but the police did as I needed to get out of my driveway.

This thread has taught me that people actually don’t get cars towed blocking their own property?

That’s seems insane to me. I had to be at work, and this person was blocking my driveway. I couldn’t contact them, what else was I to do? Tow it.

Yes it is illegal to do so. The cop was cool, so I doubt he actually gave her a ticket on top of towing the car (the tow alone really sucks) but I’m not completely sure.

Did not know it was hers. When I say neighbor, she lives a few houses down. Police ran the license plates and found out it was her house, so he knocked on her front door for about 5-10 minutes, then called her 5 times. She didn’t answer on any front.

It was then decided it would be towed.

I would be so disappointed if it happened again, disappointed in humanity.

My dad told me when I was a kid, if I did stupid shit, to learn and not to it again.

Had I blocked someone’s driveway and my car got towed, I would learn my lesson and never to it again for the rest of my existence. They should actually be thanking me for helping them learn a valuable lesson

Exactly. I think people are missing that the neighbor dictated this situation 100%. It did not have to happen, at all.

I was surprised as well. They showed up in like 10 minutes. We live in a middle-upper end neighborhood, however it has some pretty rough areas, so the cops are usually busy.

I’m honestly shocked to hear so many people don’t do anything about it. Sometimes, it’s okay to utilize the police when access to your own property is being blocked🤣
