Sanātana Dharma (Devanagari: सनातन धर्म meaning "eternal dharma") is the original name of Hinduism. It is considered to be the oldest living religion in the world. Hinduism is often called a "way of life", and anyone sincerely following that way of life can consider themselves to be a Hindu. What this way of life consists of is a broader topic. To start, I highly value the thoughts of this person. She does not label herself as a psychic-medium, this is how I’ve labeled her for this discussion. But in a way, she is as I have labeled her - all of her personal experiences while connecting to the “Holy Spirit” described claircognitive and clairsentient abilities which have been utilized for receiving evidential messages from God to be passed on to others for their benefit, normally related to health or spiritual improvement.

I’ve described my experiences with spirits, abilities, receiving signs from the dead and being physically contacted by those who are passed on from the material world. Her thoughts are that tinkering with energy work I currently practice with for healing and protection could hurt my family if not done in the name of God - “in Jesus’ name”.

She defends this view with stories of friends and family who practiced alternative spiritual modalities “with false Gods” and ended up insane or otherwise in great disharmony with the world around them and surrounded by demons, sometimes literally. The conversation was intense and brought me a bit of fear and second-guessing but I deeply believe she meant well. And I knew I would get a conversation like this from a devout Christian but being that she is basically a “psychic medium for Christ” (my words, not hers), I feel called to use more discernment about the spiritual sources from which I draw my power and protection.

I guess my question is, if we are drawing power from the same ineffable source, she admitting to similar abilities and receiving those spiritual gifts through similar practices (she with prayer, myself through prayer/meditation/energy work), is calling upon help in Jesus’ name more powerful and thus spiritually protective in vibration? What could be the reason for a greater sense of protection, harmony, and manifestation for someone like her (a Christ-believer) versus someone like me (non-believer).

Thanks for any similar stories of your own or replies to advance this discussion.

TL;DR - why is her ineffable energy source (Jesus) for broadly similar clair- abilities better and more “pure” than my source (calling on help from ancestors, guides, highest self, non-religious creator)? Can anyone help me entertain some degree of validity to her views? I value understanding her a little bit more in this regard.
