Rivian Automotive

Today my spouse got to take our Rivian to work. I had an appointment that required me to leave my own home. No big deal right? I still have my ICE vehicle. Here is the short list of pros and cons of my experience this morning:

CONS:

1. The brake pedal is a much more integral part of driving. Regenerative braking is great, especially once you learn how to feather it.

2. The engine is LOUD. I forgot how much louder I needed to keep my music to be able to hear it over the engine noises.

3. The engine is WHINEY. You can't just hit the pedal and go... If you try the engine essentially screams. While it can be done, it doesn't like it.

4. Having to carry around a key fob all the time. I have really started to enjoy not needing to carry that bulky thing everywhere.

PROS:

1. Android Auto/Apple Car Play; I think that says it all.

I'm sure other have a more extensive list, but this is my short list of reasons why I am so glad I traded my Chevy Silverado for a Rivian.
