I've known about this method for years and every single person I've told doesn't know about this method and are blown away, I can't possibly be the only one who knew about this. Most guides you see online uses harsh chemicals to soak in baking soda and soap and water but no one's really thought of this?? You can use environmentally safe ingredients and possibly cheaper than buying harsh chemicals, its easier to clean and friendlier on the environment. its a win across the board

every guide is like this: https://www.homedepot.com/c/ah/how-to-clean-a-range-hood/9ba683603be9fa5395fab901e2979e80

"one of the best degreasers for a range hood is hot water and degreasing dish soap."

no, its oil, just use olive oil or vegetable oil. its grade 3 science ladies and gentlemen, all adults rejoice, please spread this cleaning tip.

Edit: you can put oil on a sponge and start scrubbing it with the oily sponge, it cuts through the dried oil like butter

Edit2: there's a lot of ways to tackle dried oil residue, i wanted to present this method which doesnt require buying any cleaners that would sit in your closet, you can just use household cooking oil
