Hi guys! I am Marco Santanché. I built portfolio strategies for Credit Suisse and Neuberger Berman, and I am now the author of a monthly series Quant Evolution. Here is my bio.

As a practitioner and a quant Geek (with a capital G), I can answer anything about the recent bank failures, investing, and portfolio strategy. Some of the questions that people like to ask me include:

  • What are the use cases of AI and machine learning when it comes to investment management?

  • How do institutional players approach portfolio strategy?

  • How should one implement ETF strategies?

  • Why are systematic strategies often wrongly implemented by retail investors?

  • What are my thoughts on the high-profile ETFs (e.g. ARKK)?

  • Why so many bank failures lately?

Speaking Anxiety can happen when you’re introducing yourself in a group, going around the table giving an update in a meeting, being put on the spot, interviewing for a job, expressing your opinion in a group, reading out loud, or giving a speech or presentation. You get the idea - it’s all of those situations where all eyes are on you and you have to speak. In those situations, you may get a rush of fight-or-flight symptoms like heart racing, sweating, shaking, voice quivering, breathlessness, mind going blank, diarrhea, passing out and other bodily symptoms. The symptoms feel uncontrollable and may lead to a full-on panic attack where you have to run from the room. This leads to a spiral of shame, confusion and humiliation. It’s very painful and debilitating. Depending how severe it is, it can make it impossible to graduate from school, interview for jobs, be in relationships and advance your career.

When anxiety prevents you from achieving your life goals and decreases your quality of life - that’s when it becomes an Anxiety Disorder. Disorder just means that it’s getting in the way of your happiness and functioning. There should be no stigma around disorders - they should be viewed similarly to a physical illness that gets in the way of your functioning. Here’s a 3-minute video explaining the difference between speaking anxiety and a speaking anxiety disorder:  https://youtu.be/aZKWsKNV2qo.

Hey Reddit! I'm Hugh Howey, author of the self-published SILO series that releases today as a TV show on AppleTV!

This has been a WILD journey, and I've been sharing it here with you all over the last decade in a series of AMAs. The first one was after my novel WOOL went gangbusters as a self- published novel. Then I did one as my writing career went to the next level. Two years ago I did one after Apple and AMC announced WOOL was being greenlit for TV. Over the last two years we've been writing, shooting, and editing ... and now the show lands today! The first two episodes, at least.

Anything you've ever wanted to know about writing, publishing, adapting works to film, sailing around the world, how AI will make my job moot, the meaning of life, etc, fire away!

Proof: Here's my proof!
