Hey folks. I've never seen this before so wondering if this is normal. Some background, some months back I noticed that the dryer vent was not connected to the dryer and I had to put it back on, and I noticed this because the wall behind the dryer was covered in lint. Now I guess it's going outside! Shouldn't this be caught by the lint trap?

Hi Guys,
This is a follow up post to my Water Damaged MDF particle board post (https://www.reddit.com/r/DIY/comments/12my5zb/water_damaged_mdf/).
I have another question about the damaged cornice (I should have added this originally).
Do you reckon I can stick it back on with joint compound/adhesive or will I need to replace it?
If a replacement is needed, do I trace the outline of the cornice and get a copy section of it made?
Cheers
(I know what to do with the hole in the ceiling)
