Non-Americans of Reddit, what do you say to Americans who want to move to your country? by DioAurelius in AskReddit

[–]DioAurelius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, for me it’s not really about the money. It’s about the overall quality of life for me and my growing family and work life separation in Germany that isn’t present in the US.

I’m more looking at countries like Germany whos major cities still have a much lower cost of living compared to even a city like Salt Lake City.

I mean, I’d like to have more mandated vacation time, lower hours of the work week, lower cost of child care, lower cost for healthcare, cleaner cities, the ability to not have to worry about losing the ability to care for myself if I lose my job.

Are you American or European if you don’t mind my asking?

On paper yeah we make more, but our quality of life, cost of living, and standard of living sucks here.

You can’t even get a 1-bedroom apartment on the median income in the US like you can in other countries with their respective median income

The country might be, but the people sure aren’t. We also don’t have a lot of the social safety nets that many countries in the EU have

I feel like many Americans leave the country because it’s too far gone here. You have corporate greed heavily intertwined in the politics and the exploitation of narrative to keep at least half voting for the status quo. Sure we could fix it ourselves, but it sure won’t happen in any of our lifetimes most likely unless something massive happens.

Treyarch is remastering every zombies map into one giant game. If there can only be one universal gameplay mechanic, which one are you choosing? by Frank_frankfort in CODZombies

Cold War if you remove all the upgrades, makes the game far too easy and boring. I want mechanics of CW with the difficulty of BO1

What made you realise that you're an asshole? by Pavneet_390 in AskReddit

[–]DioAurelius 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Got a blowjob from my friend’s crush in high school. The post-nut clarity hit me like a bus. Basically told her I felt like an asshole who betrayed his friend and told her we couldn’t do something like that again.

What made you turn your back on religion? by openbookpower_1 in AskReddit

[–]DioAurelius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like most people don’t have a problem with religion as a whole, it’s the Abrahamic religions that leave a bad taste in people’s mouth. Never been told by a buddhist or a pagan I was going to burn for all eternity.

I explain “doing tasks” for people with ADHD like trying to put your hand on a hot stove. No matter how much you might want to put your hand on a hot stove, you physically CANT.

I also explain that the AD in ADHD is a bit misleading, as it’s not a lack of ability to pay attention, it’s a lack of ability to be able to regulate where that attention goes. You can focus so hard that you focus on focusing and then lose whatever someone is saying.

My mother in law got a bit of a dose of what it’s like to have ADHD because her medication seriously impacted her concentration. No matter how hard she tried she seriously couldn’t, she stated “dang, I can’t even imagine how bad it is for you”
