I’m seriously contemplating paying the late cancel fee; it’s 15 outside!

It was 0° when my husband and I left the house this morning for OTF. Instant regret stepping out of the car. The wind hitting my face literally made it unbearable.

https://m.fourseasons.com/orlando/dining/restaurants/capa/dinner/

This was a restaurant recommendation I received from my former manager who worked in Orlando for a long time.

It’s at the 4 seasons. It’s a steakhouse. It’s on the 17th floor so roof top dining/atmosphere.

We got there to early and ended up eating pretty basic (and also expensive) in Disney springs.

Since I’m dreaming now….

I will take a shrimp cocktail, the marinated olives, we can share the meat and cheese plates, a house salad, and I guess the 16 oz strip since they can’t be bothered with a ribeye on the menu.

Or the rack of lamb. Or you could get the steak and I could get the lamb and we could share it?

What time should I pick you guys up?

Looking at the menu, lots of keto options if you are looking for more of an experience than just a meal that works.

Edit: I last lived in south Florida, but I would recommend finding a ceviche restaurant while you’re there.

for quick and good fast food, you could always go to pollo tropical. Similar to chipotle, but with a few more/different options. The tropichop bowl is really good and lots of fresh salsas to choose from.

Last but not least, look for a Jamaican restaurant if you’re looking for something you probably can’t get at home.

Jamaican food is going to have carbs, even the jerk chicken will have some sugar in it. Brown stew chicken is delicious, but has sugar. My favorite though is the curry goat. (Probably lowest chance of carbs but still starch to thicken the curry) steamed veggies i and skip the rice and peas (or don’t it’s amazing)

🤣🤣🤣 We’ll be ready for dinner at 7pm on the 28th.

We’re definitely looking for keto friendly meals, but also an experience as well.

Thank you so much for your suggestion and for not giving the typical “there’s loads of restaurants in the area” response. We really appreciate it!

Welcome to Dolly country! I love this state, but boy, Keto is not a thing here. I’ll hit up a salsarita’s, which is a chain Tex-max joint. You can do double meat salads that are pretty good, but that’s not really an experience here. Look for steak joints, there’s definitely some, don’t let the bread reach the table, but you’ll take the butter for the double order of broccoli you side with a nice piece of beef.

Clear water can be better, there’s definitely more low carb items on local menus. Pretty much any local breakfast joint will make a keto friendly eggs benny, which is usually served on a slice of tomato with a bunch of Hollandaise, i always enjoy those with a good cup of coffee. Sorry I don’t have specifics, it’s been a while.

Yeah, keto is definitely not a thing there at all. The food there is really heavy and mostly fried in batter. Lol

Thank you for your suggestions though! We’ll definitely consider Salsaritas!

Edit to add: I think I saw you suggest Big Daddy’s Pizzeria as well? Funny enough, my husband and I have driven past it numerous times and I’ve always thought the building looked interesting on the outside. Might be something for us to consider since it has an arcade and food that a a 10 year old would eat. 🤣

Not so inclusive for a brand that’s supposed to be accepting and welcoming of members. I’m sure corporate would be livid if they saw this. This is gross.

This guy is a hack. There are so many ways to stay fit and healthy! What matters is consistency, not having the “perfect” workout formula.

I would rather go biking, hiking, or trail running for fitness than spend any amount of time in the gym. But that’s not an option for me because I live in central Illinois. Summers are hot and humid, winters are cold AF, and cycling/running outside is just too ugly and boring even when the weather is okay.

So I do Orangetheory because my gym is fun and motivating, and it’s a good way to get a decent work out. It’s optimal for me. Moreover, physical fitness is like 90% diet and I have that down to a science. That extra 10% that comes from my workout routine is easily satisfied by Orangetheory. And it could also be satisfied by CrossFit, boxing, or walking my dog. It doesn’t matter. There are so many ways to be healthy.

I will concede that you’re not gonna get jacked doing Orangetheory. So if that’s your goal, you should probably do something with a lot heavier weight bearing exercises, like CrossFit. But I find OTF perfect for building lean muscle.

I like to think of it in this way: my healthy eating habits ensure that my clothes fit well, while orange theory helps me look better naked :-)

Central Illinois here as well! Do you go to OTFChampaign? 👀 I agree with your statement completely. Consistency is definitely important and watching what you eat because you can’t outrun a bad diet.

There’s definitely carbs in it, however, canned baby corn surprisingly has fewer carbs than the canned kernels and corn on the cob

I absolutely loved today’s template. Can’t wait until it shows back up later this month.

Having a conservative push pace really helps me maintain the run without completely gassing myself out.

Definitely! Sometimes a little break is much needed.

I definitely slacked at OTF once the lockdown ended and had no motivation. I still went to classes, but I definitely didn’t watch what I eat or put forth my best effort. Took a 10 month hiatus after Hell Week 2021 to this past September and now I’m doing sooo much better than I was.

How was the Celebration studio? Going to Orlando with my husband, baby and our nephew around Christmas time and definitely want to commit to working out while we’re away from home. 😅
