Use Meet hardware to join a Webex meeting

You can join a Cisco Webex meeting from a Google Meet hardware device, which allows participants from both Meet and Webex devices to join the same meeting. The Webex host can record the meeting.

Some Meet features are not supported in a Webex meeting. Meetings can be recorded by the Webex host.

Schedule a Webex meeting on a Meet hardware device

If a Google Calendar user in your organization owns an event that includes Webex meeting details, they can add the room that is associated with a Google Meet hardware device. The Webex meeting will appear on the room’s agenda.

If the event with Webex meeting details originated outside of your organization or from a client other than Google Calendar:

  1. Duplicate the event in Google Calendar.
  2. Add the room with Google Meet hardware to the duplicated event.
  3. You may want to remove all participants from the duplicated event so they do not get multiple invitations.

Join a scheduled Webex meeting

  1. Find an available Meet hardware room.
  2. Tap the meeting name that includes the subtitle Via Cisco Webex (for Meet hardware). Use the remote control to select the meeting for Chromebox devices.
  3. The meeting begins when the Webex host joins.

Join with a meeting code

  1. Find an available Meet hardware room.
  2. Tap Join or start a meeting.
  3. On the top left, tap Meet > Cisco Webex.
  4. In the Cisco Webex Meeting number, enter the number from the Webex invitation.
  5. Tap Join.
  6. Enter the meeting password.
  7. Tap Join.
  8. The meeting begins when the Webex host joins.
