What would you recommend? For maybe VR applications or viewing in VR like Im in there in person? Or 3D modeling in general

  • iPhone photogrammetry/lidar like polycam, magicplan, or Scaniverse?

  • iPhone photos to PC photogrammetry like with Meshroom? Blender to touch up?

  • Profesional camera to PC photogrammetry

Is LiDAR the same as photogrammetry on a iPhone? I watched these YouTube videos and they basically told me the following…

iphone Photogrammetry isn't bad. (Like Polycam) fast and can be fixed up. when compared to iphone to pc photogrammetry, pc has a lot more detail and can zoom in. so either add more photos or remove some for iphone photos. iphone is the way to go if want run and gone dun in 20 minutes with a complete file but if you want to do more, use software like "meshroom". for pc version, still gotta take in to another prgoram and reduce polygon count like in blender. for iphone version just got a 1-set model that you can use right off the bat. you can still changre it afterwards if you use the iphone version model and transfer that to a pc software to touch it up, but what you get out of the phone is what you have. so 20 min with a complete file form iphone vs 6-8 hours from pc photogrammetry. holes needed to be fixed, especially if want to render in blender.

iphone to pc photogrammetry is good, not as good as professional camera to photogrammetry but still really good qualtiy. really good detail. about $4 dollars. just re-topologize to optimize better, like with "zbrush" on iphone for renderings or use in games
