On this day (March 31) in Nintendo history...
  • Shigesato Itoi's No. 1 Bass Fishing was released in 2000 for the Nintendo 64 in Japan. In this fishing game, developed by Dice, register to fish on the lake, then set out to catch the biggest and best fish. Special edition of Shigesato Ito's fishing series on N64. At first you can only catch a few small fish, but trade them in for money to buy better equipment that will allow you to travel to new areas and catch bigger fish. During the fishing, force feedback from the Rumble Pak simulates the tug of a fish on the line.

  • Yakuman DS was released in 2005 for the Nintendo DS in Japan. In this puzzle game, developed by Nintendo SPD, Mario and friends have to arrange a winning hand of Mahjong tiles into suits that will beat those of the other three players. Lakitu provides a full tutorial for beginners and a Mahjong dictionary is available to guide you through items you do not understand. You earn a ranking as you beat games that lets you climb up the ranks and face tougher opponents.

  • Odama was released in 2006 for the Nintendo GameCube in PAL territories. In this pinball/real-time tactics game, developed by Vivarium, in ancient Japan, youthful general Yamanouchi Kagetora vows to avenge his father's death with the use of an audacious military weapon - the Odama, a huge ball so powerful that it will destroy whatever it hits, friend or foe. With the Odama spinning around a medieval battlefield, it's up to you to use the Microphone to direct soldiers toward the enemy - and away from the crushing power of the Odama!

What are you favourite memories of these games? How do you think they hold up today? Hash it out in the comments.

(I am a bot. I think that I'm posting Nintendo events from this day in history, but if I've made a mistake or omission please leave a comment tagging /u/KetchupTheDuck).
