PLAC (Participatory Autonomous Zone in Ljubljana) is a safe space for everyone, that has been pushed away by the current socio-political system and anyone that was stripped of the infrastructure enabling their cultural and political activity and the actualisation of their aspirations.
The space in which PLAC is located, has been a canteen of CPL (Road Company Ljubljana) for years until its bankruptcy. After its bankruptcy, the building was abandoned, up until September 2022, when it was opened for the public, under the name of PLAC.
Since then there have been many political, musical, theatrical, culinary, sport and other events, from sewing workshops to open cafeterias and yoga lessions. The community of PLAC is the one directing the space through democratic assemblies.
