Crazy to think we might see someone win MVP while missing nearly a fifth of the season. When Bill Walton won the MVP award in 1978, his team had the best record in the league, which contributed to why he won. This would definitely be a precedent setter in terms of how much availability actually matters for the award.

Since the NBA Referees apologized to the Lakers on January 29, 2023, the Los Angeles Lakers have the most free-throw attempts - opponent free-throw attempts by a team, with 263. Second place is Miami with 123.

Can someone please explain this considering that the Lakers don't really drive in the paint as much as other teams according to NBA.com. Note this stretch is also without Lebron James for most the games.

FYI: The NBA has now uploaded all finals games from the 1990's! If you've never had a chance to watch legends in their prime like Jordan, Hakeem, Isiah, and more they're now easily accessible with an NBA ID.
