On the “Catch Me If You Can” Rewatchables, Bill launched into a hot take that Amy Adams is, in general, quite an overrated actress & doesn’t deserve to have six Oscar nominations to her name.

Certainly a bold take, to say the least.

Later on, during the recasting segment of the episode, he instantly declares that he would replace Adams with Scarlett Johansson.

On its face, that might seem like an innocent suggestion, but, whether he realizes it or not, I would hazard a guess that his overall problem with Amy Adams is that he simply doesn't think she's hot and thus, she can't hold his focus.

His immediate call was to replace Adams with the hot, young superstar of the early 2000’s. He doesn't make a case as to why she's better suited for the role; he just states that he wants her in there, without justification. Bill is a pretty simple-minded guy: when it comes to recasting male actors, he always wants someone flashier & more famous. When it comes to women, he wants someone hotter.

I'm almost certain the reason he can't get into Amy Adams' undeniably incredible body of work is because the moment he sees her come on screen, he thinks "eh, I wouldn't make a move on her," and then somewhat tunes the rest of the movie out. Then, once the movie ends, without him ever having given it his full attention & truly taking it all in, he thinks to himself, "that wasn't so great & neither was she. What's everyone's deal with her? SIX Oscar nominations?? She doesn't hold a candle to an actor like Leo! No thanks; I'm selling my Amy Adams stock."

If he paid attention, he'd realize he's missing out on some of the best movies and performances of modern, mainstream cinema. Sad!
