Bitcoin is the currency of the Internet: a distributed, worldwide, decentralized digital money. Unlike traditional currencies such as dollars, bitcoins are issued and managed without any central authority whatsoever: there is no government, company, or bank in charge of Bitcoin. As such, it is more resistant to wild inflation and corrupt banks. With Bitcoin, you can be your own bank.

When r/Bitcoin moderators began censoring content and banning users they disagreed with, r/btc became a community for free and open crypto discussion. This happened long before the creation of Bitcoin Cash. Over the years /r/btc became community of historians & torchbearers, preservers of Satoshi's Bitcoin for future generations.

In Bitcoin Cash we brought together like minded people - users, developers, miners - to carry on the experiment that is Bitcoin. We stand ready to fork again should it become necessary to protect Bitcoin to ensure the option of peer-to-peer electronic cash can survive and thrive.

Now that I have your attention, I am looking to see if anyone is in a good position to do this with me. The problem with Bitcoin Cash is that it lacks marketing and I know word of mouth is the best viral marketing strategy there is.

I had been thinking about the psychology of religious people and sports fans. They are all bonded by a common identity, an identity so strong and they identified with so much, that no amount of marketing by competitors (another religion or sports club) can take them away. What if we can create that identity for the Bitcoin Cash community?

The idea is to create a fictional country, Bitcoin Cash Country, and anyone can be a citizen of this wonderful country. Pay a small application fee of say 0.25 BCH and you will receive a personalized novelty passport and become a citizen of Bitcoin Cash Country. Here are some examples of novelty passports.

https://www.amazon.sg/Passports-geography-classroom-1Passport-1SetFlags/dp/B09JZS4JV4?th=1

I see this novelty passport as a powerful marketing tool. It's a conversation starter. "Hey, what is this Bitcoin Cash Country? I have never heard or seen such a passport before!" And in the passport, we can have a page explaining the benefits of Bitcoin Cash, for example, unlike any other countries ever, Bitcoin Cash allows you to be in full control of your money, instant remittances, etc. The passport also provides a physical representation of an identity for Bitcoin Cash supporters, similar to sports fans wearing/owning their sports club's merchandise. It can also contain a QR code where we can send payments to that QR code of that passport holder directly. This is helpful because the passport holder can immediately do a demo of a Bitcoin Cash transaction right when people are most curious about this passport.

The role of the passport is to invoke curiosity by non-BCH people and allow the BCH passport holder to get a conversation going in a natural way. In other words, it is as much a marketing tool, word of mouth tool, as it is an identity that binds all Bitcoin Cash supporters together. It's something that I feel proud to bring out the same way a sports fan wears their sports club jersey.

At Bitcoin Cash events/conferences, the attendees will receive this gift and it's extremely unique. Holding this passport can provide other advantages or access, such as VIP to certain BCH establishments or discounts. Perhaps later if there is sufficient demand, we can consider a metaverse around it (holding this passport gives you access into this virtual Bitcoin Cash Country), but for now, let's keep it extremely simple. Holding this passport also means being part of the Cash Tokens ecosystem where merchants can reward loyalty points into it via the QR code.
