my school's art history department is hosting a travel seminar about Scandinavia and will be traveling there next semester. However, this course needs an interview.

Even though I hate the idea of "specialization" in art history but it's the way it is.. I am a "specialist" in Post-Impressionism, like Henri Matisse. I always want to learn beyond my area, like Renaissance and Chinese art (My heritage). I want to apply for this seminar but I can't find a topic to relate to my interests, European contemporary art or Chinese. I feel like Scandinavian culture is so unique and independent.

I know that Ai Weiwei is somehow inspired by the CoBrA movement and many modern architecture firms have works in these countries. For Post war arts, Scandinavian countries weren't heavily involved with wars so they didn't have a huge group of artists working on this topic. For ancient Scandinavian culture, it's just not my research area and I can't bs anything about it in the interview.

Anyone could help me with a topic about the Scandinavian art / art history / architecture that could relate to broader art movements? Thank you!
