My 21-year-old daughter recently bought a car from Cazoo, the whole experience has been horrendous. Engine lights began coming on from day 1. Two garages (under Cazoo’s instruction) saw car and found a major oil leak with shockingly bad repairs. Plus all the other things that have stopped working/be some faulty since purchase. Her finance provider are dealing with this as a quality issue so we are hopeful that there won’t be too many issues with getting her out of this agreement. The insurance issue and the points on her license are the most worrying and the thing we really need to get right. She is currently a 999 call handler as a first step towards becoming a paramedic but you cannot be a paramedic with points. Cazoo have admitted ‘someone dropped the ball’ with regards cancelling the insurance. She has been fined £300 and given 6 penalty points which, as she has had her license less than 2 years, means her license is now revoked. She is absolutely devastated. As it stands she has no car (not that she could drive it) but is still paying for it. She works 50 miles from her home and cannot get there via public transport. Cazoo say she must pay the fine ‘and find out what the police suggest’. She cannot afford the fine and is worried sick about how to get to her job and the possibility of losing it because of this. What are her next steps? We have to deal with this in the right way to get it sorted ASAP, she has done absolutely nothing wrong. It’s heartbreaking to see her so scared and upset. I would be so grateful for any advice as to how to move forward. Thank you

UPDATE!! Firstly a huge heartfelt thank you to everybody who gave their time and advice. We’re still working through getting out of the finance agreement but that will hopefully work out in my daughter’s favour. With regards the points however, this morning, she had a response from the Central Ticket Office and the whole thing has been dropped. It is such a massive relief! The whole ordeal was definitely made a whole lot easier by the advice and support given here so once again THANK YOU!!
