This is quite a long story but I’m going to try and keep it short to save all of your time.

I’m 16. So is my boyfriend. We met when we were 11 and we started dating when we were 13. We’ve been together since then. We really don’t have issues or drama like most of our friends do. We’ve kept our relationship mostly from our parents as my parents are hardcore Mennonite’s and would never ever approve of him, and he hates his mom and step dad and has planned to leave them behind as soon as he’s old enough to get his little brother out of there with him. I’ve always supported this because I know the horrible shit that goes on in that house and unfortunately CPS has never done anything about it, and his mom constantly picks the abusive husband and step siblings over her own kids. My sister is 2 years younger than me and knows of our relationship and has always kept it secret. She’s actually really close with my boyfriend too and like me doesn’t believe in this religious crap our parents preach.

Anyways back in April my parents unfortunately found out about us when we got busted at school for skipping class together, and since then things got really bad. I definitely probably shouldn’t have rebelled like I had, and I get why they were pissed at a lot of the shit they caught us doing, but in June me and him tried to run away to New Mexico together, and unfortunately they broke into my sisters phone and tracked me down via Snapchat. After that my mom was very clear I either break up with him or she would get him arrested for kidnapping me which I know isn’t true hut my dads a lawyer so I know they know what they are doing.

I told her we did but we never did. We just keep our communication all under pseudonyms and meet up when I know my parents are at work or think I’m with my best friend (who luckily lies for me). We’ve been doing this since July. Well 3 weeks ago I found out I was pregnant. I didn’t tell my parents, or my sister. Only my boyfriend and my two best friends know. I don’t know what to do because I don’t want to leave my boyfriend or have an abortion, and I’m an honours student and I don’t want to sacrifice that either.

Any advice is appreciated!

Edited as I wanted to add a couple things:

  1. My boyfriend is super supportive of whatever decision I want. He said we can keep it or terminate, whichever I want because it’s my body.

  2. Neither of us currently work but we both work over the summer so we have some cash saved that we didn’t use when we tried to run away.

  3. I’m 9 weeks along so abortion is still an option but I’m from Utah so it’s very difficult here.
