I love skiing, hiking, cycling, and climbing, and it’s been a big part of my life for the past six or seven years. But the problem is I keep getting injured and I lead an incredibly unhealthy lifestyle, sinking into some pretty deep depressions every time I’m sidelined. For the past three or four years, I’ve been injured more often than I haven’t. I’ve pushed my limits and enjoyed doing a lot of cool stuff, but my body hasn’t been up to it in the end – every time I’ve picked up a bit of traction in a regular training (weighlifting and cardio) and mountains regimen, I’ve gotten injured literally a couple of months later – my hip, my back, my knees, my shoulder. I need to take a long break and really work on rehabbing through rest and mostly discipline, meaning that I can’t use being forced into a more sedentary lifestyle than I’d like as an excuse to keep smoking, drinking, eating like shit and sitting around feeling sorry for myself and mostly can't rush into too demanding hikes / climbs / ski tours right away - I probably end up doing too much, too soon each time. But it’s always really hard to face the fact that I won’t be able to do this kind of stuff for a while and a lot of my projects for the next few months are going to be sidelined - right now I'm looking at cancelling a ski touring trip in Norway because of my last climb.

Sorry for the rant, just needed to get it off my chest. Can anyone relate? Would love to hear some stories about anyone who was in a similar situation and turned it around.
