I got my hands on a delicious Epiphone Chet Atkins nylon guitar which appears to be in close to mint condition.

#invisiblestrings

However, the string height is a bit too high for my liking but I can't wrap my head around how to "fix" this.

That's way too highAcceptable, but would prefer a smidge lower

Nut seems to be at the correct height, neck is straight and parallel with the body. Upon gazing at the bridge and saddle I fail to see what to do lower the string height much.

Fret board is close to flat, saddle not so much, meaning the middle strings are super high too

Words of wisdom are much appreciated :)

EDIT #1

I decided to "DIY" a new saddle in bone and make it flat as the fret board. Turns out the slotted saddle in plastic vs. flat one in bone doesn't have any impact on the sound (as far as my untrained ears can tell anyway)

I did also try and lefty loosey the neck for some relief, but it's doesn't seem to have any impact on the angel and string action, so there's that. Alas string height on string 1 and 6 are more or less the same as before, however the other four are now level with those (just as I wanted)

4 hours worth of sanding #greatfunandstuff

P.S. No shims and I managed to break the solder joint on the piezo when pulling it out, but that was a quick fix.

P.P.S. The new saddle measures 72 x 3.17 x 1.4 and was a "blast" sanding down sloooooowly with 150 grit sand paper. Worked out great in the end, and I might even sand it down even more to try and lower the action with another 0.5mm or something silly.
