Hey, I’m Rell and I’ve been DMing for nearly a decade, and writing fiction for two. My group recently switched to PF2e (almost a year ago) and so we’re very open to players new or experienced. The campaign will be a slow burn, starting in a tiny village and slowly expanding in scope and heroics as you level up. I tend to run games heavily focused on RP and story, with usually only a combat encounter or two in most sessions, centred on political intrigue, moral dilemmas, difficult choices, and trying to do the right thing in an unforgiving world.

Who we’re looking for:

We’re looking for a player who is excited to dive deep into a complex and detailed world, make tough choices, pursue their character’s goals and motivations, and enjoys deep progression throughout a campaign.

Looking for someone who is understanding of other people’s viewpoints and identities, isn’t a raging bigot, prefers open communication to silently building resentment, isn’t a raging bigot, has the ability to engage critically with complex ideas, has a level of media literacy and reading comprehension, and, most importantly, isn’t a raging bigot.

Campaign:

The campaign will start in the small village of Dynesford at the cusp of winter in a northern and snowy climate. Uncharacteristically heavy rains have caused the river to flood, wiping out the winter crops growing along the fertile bank. The village will starve if nothing is done and so a representative was sent to the nearby castle to beg the baron for help. However, he’s a week overdue on his return, and winter is fast approaching.

You’ll be starting at level 1 (or perhaps 0 for the first session or two, depending on player preference) and will have to carefully and slowly navigate an unforgiving world where the threats do not scale with the party. We’ll be using hexploration rules with a homebrew “wildness” stat. Wildness is the number of hexes the area is away from the nearest major road/settlement, plus a modifier for dangerous terrain types (mountain, deep forest, necromancer’s lair etc). Wildness is then added to a d6 to determine the danger level, with a higher number meaning higher threat enemies. If you are far from the beaten path you will come across high-level threats, regardless of what level you are.

This will mean at level 1 the majority of the wilderness is too dangerous to navigate, but at higher levels you’ll be able to take shortcuts through forests with ease, adding a level of progression to travel as you level beyond the already present progression of obtaining better mounts and magical means of transport.

The goal of the campaign is to make the world feel dangerous and full of secrets at low level, and have it slowly open up as you progress through the campaign. You’ll start as simple travellers doing small jobs for locals, and move onto larger and larger things; getting wrapped up in politics and civil war, exploring the secrets of magic, investigating ruins of ancient civilisations, and/or whatever else strikes your fancy.

It is the year 2512. The 24th of Jahrdrung. You are in The Empire, the glorious Empire of Mankind. One of the mightiest nations of man in the Old World. And whilst people from other Kingdoms could argue otherwise. No one could deny that the Empire is huge and sports an equally large military.

Not only are there hundreds of thousands of men armed. But their gunpowder and imperial steam tanks are equally if not more impressive. The Empire would have you believe that it is the safest place in the Old World and that even though threats are coming from all corners, they are all being handled by The Emperor, Karl Franz, and his wonderful armies. But you know this not to be true. There are many enemies beyond the borders of man.

And many of them are quite dangerous. Full of danger, not just humans fighting amongst themselves. But dark monsters and beasts wait for the opportunity to destroy Mankind in the dark forests. But perhaps even worse than the enemies beyond, are the enemies within.

Hail the Emperor!

Hello everyone, I'm Jake. I'm what people would consider an aspiring novice DM. I'm 20 years old and I'm looking to get into Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 4E. I am pretty new to the system and the world in general. Please be patient with me as I am still learning. I would greatly appreciate feedback if you have any.

New players are certainly welcome and right now I'm looking for 1-2 more players to join us in our Enemy Within campaign.

The game heavily revolves around roleplay as the system name suggests as combat is quick, bloody, and brutal. Spells can go wrong and mutate others. One clean strike can instantly kill you. Limbs can go missing, and diseases can overtake you.

I envision a grim dark-fantasy setting with some humor sprinkled here in there. And I'm looking for players who might be interested in exploring such a setting.

Several identity tags have been made available for users who may have a harder time than most making a group of people who share a particular part of their identity. These tags are not for others to say they are friendly toward their group (they can say so without the tag, though!) this is solely for groups whose intent is for all members to share the tagged identity:

[Accessible] for people requiring special access or tools to play as a result of disability.

[POC] for people of color

[Fem] for people who identify as feminine or woman

[LGBTQPlus] for people who identify as LGBTQAI+
