How

5 Years $255 Million Fully Guaranteed $51 Million per year. Here are our Cap numbers.

We are projected to have $101 million next season. That is before moving off of Ryan Kelly and Resigning Michael Pittman Jr. Assuming we do both of those we’d still have around $25 million in cap space. If Bucker/Other veterans restructure then we could potentially reach $40 million in cap space

Why

This move does not destroy our salary cap situation. $25-40 million is enough room to make significant additions to the roster in free agency as well as through the draft.

Here is the the Full NFL Collective Bargaining Agreement. The Non exclusive Franchise Tag is on the CBA’s page 64. We don’t have to send our #4 pick. There isn’t any distinction on the specific years. Teams can currently trade ‘25 Picks.

Adding Lamar to our locker room will legitimize our team. Hes the only guy who can match Darius Leonard’s Maniac Energy and Offensively he’s already shown the ability to run an offense. I think guys would risk their money at a chance to win with Lamar. Also, Lamar has a grey at resume with hitting receivers in stride for long touchdowns. He also gets tight ends involved. Steichan schemes his tight ends.

And Finally I’ll address the injury concerns. He still looks great on the field. There is no reason to believe he I’ll fall off of a cliff. Aaron Rodgers went a decade between MVP awards, he also missed a lot of time with injuries. Michael Vick missed a lot of time and put on hell of season with the Eagles and a few games for the Eagles. We have the foundation to make this work long term.

If you’re worried about the money you shouldn’t be. We have been saving up and Lamar will make the money back for Irsay. This is the move that The Colts should make

Edit: We can also restructure Lamar’s deal in 3 years to save money then.
