When he finished it wasn't much of a surprise it was telling him to share pictures of his cassette tapes, cassette players, analog equipment on Reddit. It also wanted him to promote tape labels, make tape compilations, and share the love of the format. The tape self destructs. Snoo eats the magnetic tape!

I have a j-pop question (but it's k-pop related).

Solved

So JYP and Sony debuted a Japanese group Niziu in 2020. Since their debut they have released 10 singles, 1 album and 1 extended play. And yet I can't seem to find any live performances of them on music shows. I only found their kcon, mama and supersonic performances, but no music shows, though I know for a fact that japan has music shows (Music station, CDTV, Melodic, Love music etc.) Cause if you look at kpop, you can find thousands of videos of performances at music shows like Inkigayo, Music Bank and MCountdown (including fancams and full cams).

Can someone explain this to me? Do Japanese groups like Niziu actually perform at their music shows, or do these shows just don't upload anything on youtube?

Question

Hey everyone!!!

I'm currently working on a research paper for a class about J-pop and popular J-pop artists. As a complete newbie to J-pop, is it possible for y'all to consider and maybe answer a few questions for me?

Who, in your opinion, are the most important J-pop artists/groups that a lay-person should get to know right now? Any certain song suggestions?
How would you describe the genre of J-pop as a whole?
If you have the knowledge, how popular are Japanese idols within Japan? What is some proof of this?
Do you believe that J-pop is popular in the Western (anglophone) market? If yes, what are some contributing factors to the popularity? If no, why do you say so?
Do you believe J-pop is created for Japanese audience or for an International audience?
Are J-pop idols considered to be highly skilled and talented? Who are some examples?
How would you describe the performance style of J-pop groups/idols? Do they tend to focus more on relatability? Present performances that look technically perfect?

I know some of these questions might be hard to answer, but I would really appreciate any responses. I apologize if any of these questions come off as rude, I'm just trying to get an overall understanding of J-pop and J-pop fandom as a whole. Thank you!
