Hello fellow long haulers,

I am one of those wild long covid cases that got it in March 2020, first wave, way before the PCR tests were available and with virtually no GPs willing to take our cases due to "the lack of a positive test". I went from "physically fit and having the best time of my life" to bedbound in a matter of weeks.

After 3 years suffering way more than I could have ever imagined I have found A LOT of answers and I feel I owe this community my insights, I hope this may help people out there suffering.

Please, do not give up, if anything, I want to share here that there is a way out, is just really complicated and the medical system is not fit to help us, so it require us playing to be doctors to achieve the tests / treatments we need. I have cried and suffered SO much guys, I have nothing but empathy for this community.

A bit of background.

  • Female - I was in my late 20s when I got it

  • UK - London Based

  • I work in IT - in a very specific field with high demand, they have allowed me to work flexible hours and have sick days etc.

  • That beind said, I have the absolute priviledge of having 2 insurances on the top of the NHS (UK's public healthcare system) and I had life savings in order to pursue top tier specialists.

  • Unvaxxed

  • Got Covid both in March 2020 (no test available) and June 2022 (positive PCR). First infection felt like I was going to die (and probably could have died, based on my latest findings), second one was like very bad flu. It did not solve my long haul but neither worsened it.

Even with all those benefits, this journey has been hell on earth. I would like to share with you what are the formal diagnoses that I got and how it was possible to obtain them.
