Substance Painter/designer become Adobe Substance 3d suite. What other alternatives there is?
I know you can still make one time purchase of the software on steam and both of them costing around 200 now with discount. But just looking to be prepared if one day they are not available.
What program is out there that could be used as equally good software?
Substance Painter:
3DCoatTextura [has multiple pricing options. around 95$/year or $10 monthly. Literally just got announced]
Quixel Mixer [Free]
ArmorPaint [Open Source, Free]
Blender (+Add ons):
Bpainter [Open Source(?), 39.99 $]
Pbr Painter [Open Source(?), 20 $]
Substance Designer:
3DCoatTextura
MaterialMaker [Open Source, Free]
Blender (+Add ons)
NodePreview [Open Source(?), 35$]
That's all I'm aware of, but I have never used Substance or most of what I listed here and if only dabbled in it. You absolutely can make very good materials in MaterialMaker as you see on the homepage. I couldn't even come close to it, and suspect it is easier in Substance Designer. You can probably do the same in Blender if you can master hundreds of math nodes. You can texture paint in Blender, but it is far more efficient to do it in a Substance like program. 3DCoatTextura seems interesting but literally just got announced, so time will tell.
Thats an awesome list/reply. Had no idea 3D coat is releasing a rehauled version. Looks so good judging by the videos. I think im dropping adobe and switching to 3D coat.
MaterialMaker looks really cool for open source, the same goes for Armor paint. Got to thank these ppl, making being Indie, easier and some times even possible.
