The Kids Are Alright is a soundtrack album by British rock band The Who, as a companion to the band's documentary film of the same name.

It was originally released as a double album in June 1979 on Polydor Records in the UK and MCA Records in the US. The performance of "My Wife" was from a concert The Who filmed for The Kids Are Alright at the Gaumont State Cinema in Kilburn; however the footage was not used in the film. That show was later restored for DVD and released as The Who At Kilburn: 1977 in 2008. "Tommy Can You Hear Me" had a longer outro with Roger Daltrey repeating the word "Tommy" before Keith Moon screams "'Ello!" to end the song. The soundtrack album did well in the US and peaked at #8 on the Billboard album chart and went platinum, while it peaked at a disappointing #26 on the UK charts.

Supernatural (season 3)

Season three of Supernatural, an American paranormal drama television series created by Eric Kripke, premiered on October 4, 2007, and concluded on May 15, 2008. Traveling throughout America, protagonists Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) use their father's journal to help them carry on the family business—saving people and hunting supernatural creatures. The season begins with the brothers tracking down the demons released from Hell in the previous season finale. They become allies with a demon named Ruby (Katie Cassidy), who claims to know a way to release Dean from his demonic pact—he had sold his soul to a demon and was given a year to live in exchange for Sam's resurrection—and wants to protect them from the new demonic leader Lilith. As Dean's deadline approaches, their efforts are further hindered by Bela Talbot (Lauren Cohan), a professional thief of occult items who is often at odds with the Winchesters.

In the United States the season aired on Thursdays at 9:00 pm ET on The CW television network. The CW ordered 22 episodes for the season, but interference from the 2007–08 Writers Guild of America strike ultimately limited the season to 16 episodes. Some storylines were thus postponed, which Kripke felt ultimately benefited the season by forcing the writers to focus on saving Dean. Despite its low ratings—it averaged only about 2.74 million American viewers—the series received an early renewal for a fourth season. The third season received mixed reviews from critics and fans, while the introduction of Ruby and Bela garnered generally negative responses.

The Kids are a Belgian punk rock band formed in 1976.

They broke up in 1985, but came back together in 1996 for the soundtrack recording of the Belgian film Dief (Thief). They have been together ever since and still play gigs around the world.

The Kids (Norwegian band)

The Kids was a Norwegian band from Trondheim founded in 1979, not to be confused with the eponymous Belgian punk rock band. Their most familiar hit was Forelska i lærer'n (translated to "In love with the teacher"), in 1980. Norske jenter ("Norwegian girls") was another hit. The band released music in Sweden with Swedish language versions of the songs.

The Kids became known for their platinum blonde hair, and were the first in Norway to produce a music video. The video was aired by the program Zikk Zakk, the only rock music program on NRK. The Kids sold to platinum. After the band broke up, Dag Ingebrigtsen took part in the founding of TNT. Meanwhile Torstein Flakne founded Stage Dolls. In 1996 they had a reunion tour in Norway, and released the "Greatest Hits" on CD.

"The Kids Are Alright" is a song written by Pete Townshend of The Who. It appears as the seventh track on the group's first album My Generation (1965).

Background

"The Kids Are Alright" was not released as a single until more than six months after it first appeared on the LP, first in the United States, and in the UK the following month. While not a huge hit at the time (reaching number 41 in the UK and number 85 in the US), the song, along with the album's "My Generation", became anthems for the group and the Mod subculture of England in the 1960s. It later became the name of the documentary for the band in 1979. The song was edited for the U.S. single and this version has become much more common than the original full-length U.K. album version. The edit of the song features a substantially shortened instrumental break. A promotional film for the song was shot in Hyde Park in July or August of 1966. In addition to appearing on My Generation, the beginning of the song can be heard on Quadrophenia, after the song "Helpless Dancer" has faded out.
