Let's assume that cost of the house ISN'T a concern (we can dream).

Here's some things that I'd consider:

• Proximity to various resorts. Only having one nearby ski resort can get old over a season, imagine over 10+ years. Also not having options if lines/management/prices become an issue would be a bummer. Having other resorts within ~2 hours is fun for longer day trips too.

• Multi season location. Sure, we all love to ski, but being in the mountains is awesome in the summer. Being in a dead ski village wouldn't be the best

• Proximity to where you live/or a major airport. example: Telluride would be cool, but hard to get to regularly

• Quality of the Town. Is it a real town, or a manufactured ski village?

• Snow/Resilience to Climate Change

I'd probably vote Jackson, despite it's difficulties to access and lack of resort options. The town is cool, there's tons of snow, backcountry is amazing, and it's a great multi season resort.

My second choice would be Frisco, CO. 90 minutes to Denver airport makes it easy to access, and there's 8 resorts within an hour drive. It isn't at the base of a ski resort, so it has good multi season appeal.
