Both were Italian, real names being Mario Girotti(Hill) and Carlo Pedersoli(Spencer), but they were more popular by their screen names. Hill's mother was German, while Dad was Italian, which explains his typical German look, and he was born in Venice, though he grew up in Dresden. Spencer on the other hand was born and bought up in Naples.

Watch Out We are Mad

Theirs was a typical odd couple, Hill the young, handsome hero, Spencer on the other hand the big man with a heart of gold, a loud guffaw.

God Forgives I Don't

They first came together in the Sphagetti Western God Forgives I Don't, that started their succesful partnership, followed by Ace High and Boot Hill, that made up a trilogy.

They Call Me Trinity was one great movie in the Sphagetti Western genre, as two brothers, who defend a Mormon settlement from Mexican bandits and henchmen of a land grabber Harriman.

The action scenes in their movies were more fun, especially with Spencer, lifting off the baddies, tossing them around that looked even more believable with his big build.

The sequel Trinity is Still My Name proved to be even more popular than the first one, and this was the movie where they adopted their screen names. I believe Bud's name was inspired by Budweiser beer and his favorite actor Spencer Tracy.

They later branched out in different genres.

Watch Out We're mad, a Comedy set against the backdrop of racing. The final scene where they drive inside the Boss's luxury restaurant breaking down everything is one hoot.

Crime Busters was another favorite, as two cops taking on a gang of traffickers in Miami with their rather unorthodox methods. One delightful action-comedy, especially the final fight in a bowling alley.

Odds and Evens was another great watch set against gambling backdrop,

I am for the Hippopotamus was another great comedy set against the backdrop of Africa.

They came in other movies individually too later on, Hill in My Name is Nobody( with Henry Fonda), Super Snooper( a bumbling Miami cop who becomes a superhero) while Spencer appeared in movies like The 5 Man Army, Bulldozer.

Their movies were great fun together to watch, great mix of comedy and action, that can be watched anytime. And the duo had a great chemistry on screen.
