With news that Ja Morant has entered counseling in Florida, it's hard to imagine him making All-NBA, which I think would have been likely without these incidents. Not making All-NBA would cost him about $39 million, reducing his contract from a projected 5/$233m to 5/$194m.

(I'm still good with Scoot at No. 2 on my personal board, FWIW.)

Also, just to be clear: the Miller/Henderson discussion at No. 2 in the 2023 NBA Draft is not some created gimmick by media for draft drama. I've talked to multiple GMs and high-level scouts that either think it's a real conversation or just flat-out have Miller ahead. It's real

And mostly, that's not an indictment of Henderson. It's that Miller's play on the court has really made it a genuine discussion. His level of improvement throughout the season has been outstanding, after already starting at an exceptionally high point.

As to why some GMs & high-level scouts are trending towards have Scoot Henderson lower than Brandon Miller, Sam answered in the replies:

Yeah it’s just the general lack of improvement this year. It’s a real conversation for front offices, this isn’t just a created gimmick for draft drama at the top.

yeah, I kinda think that scouts that were really paying attention last year already liked the passing quite a bit (just played with Dyson/Hardy last year so numbers weren't elite), and the 3-point shot hasn't improved to the point where it's average. And again, I have Scoot at 2

E: Added more from Sam to clarify the "lack of improvement" part (he tweeted this after I posted it)
