Mexican-American looking to immigrate to Spain

Question

I'm a 22M from Texas and have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, and speak Spanish fluently. I have yet to find work in my field and am actively applying, although I am employed in something unrelated with decent pay. From what I can gather, I would need around 2+ years of professional experience in a shortage field to be able to immigrate to Spain, and "Programmer" happens to be on the shortage list for this year.

My current plan is to continue living in Texas at minimal living costs until I work in my field for long enough to be able to immigrate.

Does anyone have experience in earning a work visa for Spain/EU in my field of work? What are the legalities of working a remote US job while living in Spain?

Edit: It seems I'm able to gain Spanish citizenship from 2 years of residence if I'm a Mexican citizen. I will go forward with obtaining Mexican citizenship through my parents. This makes it a whole lot easier once I obtain a work visa!
