Ask A Canadian: Sorry if we don't answer, eh.

I recently moved into my condo downtown after living in a basement in ajax for last 6 months. Since the day i have moved, half of my night goes to me waking up and having severe cough to the extent my tonsils are in pain. The days are as normal as possible, the cough only begins when i am back at the apartment.

Using a humidifier, but despite turning off the heating and windows closed the humidifier is unable to maintain a decent humidity for long.

Any ideas why is this happening and what to do about it ?
