Male or Female doctor Male or Female doctor
no politics

Hi Aussies. I’m curious about your preferences when it comes to the gender of your GP. As a male I have always preferred to have a male doctor but I was talking to a male friend the other day who has always preferred to see a female doctor. So I’m curious if there’s a more common preference. Do you see a doctor of the same or opposite gender and does it make any difference if you need to see the doctor for a “below the waist” or intimate issue?

Lost job in april. Mental health has gone down. Heavy depression. Has anyone faced this and what did you do? Lost job in april. Mental health has gone down. Heavy depression. Has anyone faced this and what did you do?

As above.

Early 30s male. I am well aware things dont always go to plan in life. Started a job in october and finally hit 6 figures. Got dismissed 1 week before probation ended.

Initially I was relieved as the job was stressful. But ive been searching for work for months. Ive come across roles that were pulled out, hiring freezes and jobs I had to knock back on. I am getting burnt out searching and my anxiety is getting worse as my employment gap increases.

I am not sure what to do as I feel my mental health is going down. I feel like giving up and just staying on welfare. Everything feels 10 times more difficult to do and have had people close to me tell me they can sense depression.
