GoldTo The Stars

Hello everyone. I'm a Christian for I think 2 years now and I traveled all over the world including America and other places in Europe. I feel like our belives is honestly so much diffrent then those of America and how we practice it. And to be honest if I lived in America I would probably never been a Christian.

The way we interpret the Bible is in most country's very diffrent and I think Americans often forget about not judging others or turning the other cheek. I think most of Europe is not very vocal about their religion and also much more open minded. Which is also due to the Biblical translations. For example in Germany the line you should not sleep with another men like you do with a women has a completely other meaning in many German translation in which is translated into Knabe which means boy. Many German believers see it against pedophilia and not about homosexuality.

And even our churches are a lot more chill. I was in churches all over Europe and America and I honestly find it really weird how vocal Americans are about the religion and how close minded they are when it comes to science and things that are not in their belives. In most of Europe your religion is a private matter. We have the mindset of live and let people live. In America your religion is sometimes a person's whole personality. Which is insane for an European Christian.

And also on this reddit community I can see the diffrence between German Christianity and American. I think Germans are more chill about their and others belives and are open minded. We see many things like Adam and eve or Noah's story as symbolic. Since science disproved many of these. So I think it's pretty interesting that in America people still belive its not symbolic.

But if you traveled abroad what did you notice about our belive? And do you agree with me with your own experience? And how is it in your county?
